Linzer Cookies
Wee! It's the start of Birthday month! My birthday is on Sunday!
For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie, Noskos of Living the Life chose Linzer Sables on pages 134-135 of Dorie's great book: Baking: From My Home to Yours (which makes a great holiday gift by the way! :)
I rolled out the dough waaaaaay too thick. And the mat wasn't floured enough so everything stuck. It was kinda a nightmare - all my fault. I ended up with just a few that turned out.
But since I did buy new Linzer Sables from Sur la Table, I'm going to try again!!
Filled 'em with raspberry and apricot jam!
Be sure to check out the other Tuesdays with Dorie bakers who probably did a much better job!!
Awesome job. Greatlooking linzer cookies!
ReplyDeleteHappy early birthday! Your cookies look great!
ReplyDeleteYour cookies don't look too thick, they look perfect- very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I think I need to go invest in some mini cutters. =)
ReplyDeleteI love the dusting of powdered sugar! Adorable cookies!
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful! Great job. And happy birthday. So we are both Saggitarians? Good sign, great people, huh? :)
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute! I'm jealous, your cookies look exactly how I wanted mine to look. I must get my hands on some mini cutters before I deal with the second half of the dough.
ReplyDeleteOh, your cookies look so incredible! I used the same scalloped edge cutter but forgot to make any cutouts - yours are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy Birthday!
I think they look great, those cut-outs are flipping adorable.
ReplyDeleteThose are truly beautiful cookies
ReplyDeleteDecember is my birthday month also... but I have to wait a few more weeks for it yet (it's the 28th)
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look great! I'm sorry you had a hard time rolling and cutting them though...
Happy Birthday Mary! Hope you have a ton of fun things planned this coming weekend!
ReplyDeleteI think your cookies look great --- not to thick at all --- great job!
Happy Birthday month! (and birthday) And what are you talking about? Yours look great, I rolled mine out too thin instead of too thick.
ReplyDeleteNo...so pretty!! And I love Sur la Table.
ReplyDeleteMy cookies were too thick, too, but the few that I did get thin broke apart really easily. So maybe thick is the new thin. That's what I tell my personal trainer, at least.
Great job! Happy early birthday!
ReplyDeleteLovely cookies! And Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! Bummer everything stuck.
ReplyDeleteSimple yet perfect, what more to ask for... that's how the Austrian like them! LOL Gorgeous sablés!
ReplyDeleteI think they turned out beautifully! I'm so jealous of your cookie cutters! I was just at Sur La Table this past Saturday to get those mini tartlette pans you told me about, and I completely forgot about those cookie cutters! Too bad it's 100 miles away :(
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Your cookies are flippin' perfect looking. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteI rolled mine to thick too.
