Countdown to 40 Giveaway - I'm 39 10/12 years old!
I'm 39 10/12 today! My birthday is right around the corner! As I head toward 40, I'm celebrating every month! Whoo hoo!
I've been celebrating by ordering things on Amazon. Oh man, it is just too easy to click your way to a boatload of books on your doorstep. Anyway, I want you to celebrate your upcoming birthday with me (everyone has an upcoming birthday...even if it's 10 months away). I'm giving away a $39 10/12 Amazon.com Gift Certificate to one lucky reader.
In addition, I'm giving $40 in your name to A Chica Bakes marathon fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Eliana lost two close relatives to this disease. She has been training and training (in between making some delicious food) for the Chicago Marathon this month. Eliana has ALMOST reached her fundraising goal, and let's get her there!
To enter, just leave a comment (if you aren't connected to a blog, leave your email address...and if you have a blogger account but it's private so I can't see it...leave your email address). Deadline is Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at midnight PDT. FCC Disclosure: My birthday giveaways are paid for by me.
*** Contest is closed. Winner is #116 Anne Strawberry ***
My birthday's coming up too! Birthdays are awesome (:
ReplyDeleteangelilee91@gmail dot com
Happy almost-birthday! Good luck Eliana!
ReplyDeleteA great giveaway! I would know what to do with such a gift certificate...
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Rosa

ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet for doing this girl!!! And what amazing books you're giving away. Who ever wins them is going to be super happy!!!
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel when you are 39 and hitting the BIG 40 ! Been there and I'm in my mid 40's now ! how time flies !
My birthday is in June.
Thank you for the giveaway.
Wishing you a very Blessed and Happy coming BIG 40 Birthday = )
Blessings
Christine

ReplyDeletehappy almost birthday! :) runningcarmie at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteHappy unbirthday (or almost birthday; whatever's your fancy!).
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I'm done with my MLS, I may just have to try the whole foodie librarian thing. Especially if I move somewhere I don't know anyone and want a quick way to make some friends!
Buying books from Amazon is so addictive! happy almost birthday :)
ReplyDeletesarah.currence at gmail
I got caught up on reading your blog this morning. Congrats to your folks for such a blessed marriage and your pics and post on the chiles, how interesting. And the eatery, Lemonade, yum!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy big Amazon trap is the Super Saver Shipping. I'll be purchasing a textbook for $19.95 and it tells me if I add $5.05 more they'll ship it for free. Which is essentially like getting a free $5 item if you play your cards right...but what costs exactly $5.05? So then I sink a lot of time into finding something small, only find something worth buying for $10, and end up spending more than if I had just paid the $4.99 to ship my textbook in the first place!
ReplyDeleteYay! Who doesn't love a giveaway! Particularly one that ends up benefiting others as well!

ReplyDeleteThanks for setting a great example of how to approach that milestone birthday. I've got 17 months to go, and I already started rounding up a) to get used to the idea and b) to fish to get compliments that I don't look my age. Thanks also for being a librarian/advocate and for all the great baking/cooking tips.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteWell, we're about a decade apart ;)
ReplyDeleteI am SO excited to see that you're donating to LLS!!! I just did the Light The Night walk on Saturday in memory of my cousin Kelly who lost her battle with Leukemia last July at age 21. One day I will do the 1/2 marathon ;)
Great idea making a donation to A Chika Bakes! The best birthdays are ones which you share with others!
