For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie selection, Heather of Randomosity and the Girl chose Buttery Jam Cookies on page 80 of Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours.
These cookies aren't going to be on People Magazine's Sexiest Cookies Alive issue ...they look kinda plain and I had to toss some powdered sugar on them so they didn't look so anemic. However, they really grow on you and they are a nice, delicate treat.
I made mine with Mango Jam from Cost Plus World Market (I have always loved that store...you can find lots of fun stuff)
With a little mango jam and ginger, these buttery cookies are a nice treat!
Be sure to check out the other Tuesdays with Dorie bakers and see what other jams they used!

HUH... these take my taste buds away and they are off on their way to your post... OH my.. Buttery Mango, goodness they look wonderful...
mmmm mango jam! Great job with the presentation too.
They were plain - but I still loved them! :)
ta photo les mets en valeur car c'est vrai qu'il fallait un peu d'imagination pour les rendre "présentable " :)
So pretty - love the powdered sugar dusting on top. I guess they do look sort of anemic, don't they? But tasty, which is what counts!
Woah! I mean the cookies look great, but c'mon, the top pic uneven bowl is to die for! You've really succeeded into making plain looking cookies, amazing.
I think your cookies look great. Mine were jagged mounds but yours look so smooth. Love the powdered sugar. I thought they were tasty too!
Those look fabulous...I love World Market too!
Your cookies look really nice, I love the powdered sugar on top.
Yum. . . . mango and powdered sugar. I bet that made them tasty. I actually sprinkled a little green and red sugar on the top of a few of mine, but I couldn't really tell any difference in the taste. Yours look great!
Mango sounds really good! Nice job this week!
I bet they were fabulous with the mango.
The mango jam sounds great, and the powdered sugar totally beautifies these otherwise plain jane cookies. I love World Market too -- I need to start looking for mango jam there!
Wonderful...look really yummy with or without the powdered sugar...very elegant with it! Nice job.
Wow, doesn't look better than that! Mango too? Niiiiiice. I am digging your creativity!

they look so cute, especially with the powdered sugar!! mango jam sounds delicious :)
I love Cost Plus, there are some great finds there. A nice buttery cookie is always good to have.
I agree, these cookies were less than photogenic but you have made them look great!
Mango sounds really nice for a jam cookie. I kinda like the simplicity. Glad you did too.

You always have the best flavor combinations. I mean, really, mango cookies sound like they belong on a tropical island.
Wow, the powdered sugar really dresses them up! And mango sounds yummy. =)
The mango jam and ginger is a good combination. Your cookies look yummy.
Mine were kinda plain and bland. It went to hub's office in a ziplock bag. I like how you sexed it up with powdered sugar.
That little bit of powdered sugar on top of the cookies really makes them look prettier!! I should try that once they've been defrosted and they are on the cookie plates for Christmas.
Nice cookies. I like your powdered sugar on top. I thought they were good but Im not to interested in making them again.
Dang, look at you with your powdered sugar topped cookies. Very nice!
They look great, dressed up for Christmas with a little powdered sugar.
I love World Market too... it's a good thing for my wallet they aren't close by.
These are beautiful little cookies - the mango jam is a real treat.
