Linzer Cookies (Tuesdays with Dorie)
Linzer Cookies

Wee! It's the start of Birthday month! My birthday is on Sunday!

For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie, Noskos of Living the Life chose Linzer Sables on pages 134-135 of Dorie's great book: Baking: From My Home to Yours (which makes a great holiday gift by the way! :)

I rolled out the dough waaaaaay too thick. And the mat wasn't floured enough so everything stuck. It was kinda a nightmare - all my fault. I ended up with just a few that turned out.

But since I did buy new Linzer Sables from Sur la Table, I'm going to try again!!

Linzer Cookies (Tuesdays with Dorie)
Filled 'em with raspberry and apricot jam!

Be sure to check out the other Tuesdays with Dorie bakers who probably did a much better job!!

They are so beautiful! Great job. And happy birthday. So we are both Saggitarians? Good sign, great people, huh? :)

Those are so cute! I'm jealous, your cookies look exactly how I wanted mine to look. I must get my hands on some mini cutters before I deal with the second half of the dough.

Oh, your cookies look so incredible! I used the same scalloped edge cutter but forgot to make any cutouts - yours are so pretty!

Have a Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday month! (and birthday) And what are you talking about? Yours look great, I rolled mine out too thin instead of too thick.

MacDuff said... [Reply to comment]

No...so pretty!! And I love Sur la Table.

My cookies were too thick, too, but the few that I did get thin broke apart really easily. So maybe thick is the new thin. That's what I tell my personal trainer, at least.
