Food Librarian - Cinnamon Squares

For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie selection, Tracey of Tracey’s Culinary Adventures chose Cinnamon Squares on pages 210 and 211 of Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours. Be sure to head over to Tracey's blog. Her blog rocks!!!

Food Librarian - Cinnamon Squares
I've made this recipe before and it is delicious! A perfect breakfast, tea, snack, brunch, dessert, 3:00 pm, midnight and TV snack. Yes, a friend indeed.

Food Librarian - Cinnamon Squares
The center swirl is a delicious combo of instant espresso powder, sugar, cinnamon and chocolate. I know some people don't care of the flavor combo of cinnamon and chocolate, but I love it. I put in 3/4 of the batter, the swirl, then the remaining 1/4 batter.

Food Librarian - Cinnamon Squares
The topping is a mix of melted bittersweet chocolate and butter. Simply yum.

Recipe: Find it on Tracey’s Culinary Adventures, or in Dorie's fantastic book, Baking.

OMG.... these look fantastic, totally drool-worthy. I could devour several at this very moment. Unfortunately, my DC can't stand anything coffee-flavored. Maybe I could leave that out and subsititute something else? Gorgeous job! :) K

This looks absolutely perfect! I bet putting in 3/4 of the batter before layering in the ribbon really helped keep it in place. Nice job!

Woahhh... what a nice ganache! Glistening under the light! ...oh! and I just love your teethmarks! LOL LOL I know it's kinda strange to get compliments on teethmarks... LOL but I dunno there's something about the fact that we rarely see them and goodness knows how many food blogs we go through!

Very nice, Mary!
