Brownie Buttons - Food Librarian
For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie selection, Jayma of Two Scientists Experimenting in the Kitchen selected Brownie Buttons on page 106 of Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours.

They came out really short and squat (kinda like me).

A little bit of orange zest in the batter gave it a good chocolate and orange flavor. Those two flavors make a great couple. Dorie suggests a white chocolate dippy topping, but I opted for some powdered sugar.

Thanks Jayma for a great pick! Be sure to check out the other Tuesdays with Dorie bakers!

Ooh I like this idea, especially for gatherings. Next batch, I'm totally trying this. The short and squat part made me laugh... describes me too :)

Your tower of brownie buttons is so pretty. I tried to sprinkle powdered sugar on some of mine, but they didn't look nearly as inviting as yours.

Hahaha short and squat like me...you are so funny. They look adorable and I think the powdered sugar looks like it's just enough to bring the right amount of sweetness.

Short and squat...you kill me. I have been wanting brownies for months. All the TWD postings are making the cravings stronger.

I'm not making any comments about short and squat. :)Something about the pot calling the kettle black.

Adorable, and sorry about the dairy sweetie, you can make delicious substitutions, I swear. Just not for stinky cheese, I miss that so much.

What elegant looking brownie buttons. I liked the orange/choc combo too, but it was really subtle once baked.

Chocolate with powdered sugar - perfect!

Those look great! I went with dark chocolate for my glaze, since I don't really like white chocolate.

Those brownie tops look perfect and fluffy! I did half sans frosting too and I think I liked them better.
