Spicy Cranberry Bundt from Dorie Greenspan
Thanks to my friend JustJenn of JustJennDesigns for making the logo!
I'm posting 30 Bundts in 30 days. I'm crazy. Duly noted.
This Spiced Cranberry Bundt is a Dorie Greenspan recipe that doesn't appear in her book. This one was in Bon Appetit last year (November 2008). I hope you enjoy this autumn Bundt.
This recipe calls for Chinese Five-Spice Powder. This involved a trip to Penzeys Spices! Chinese Five-Spice has anise so this cake has a slight anise flavor. Anise isn't usually my favorite, but in this cake it was pretty mellow and there are other spices in the mix.
Greek yogurt, dried and fresh cranberries and chopped almonds make this an interesting and yummy Bundt.
An easy peasy glaze of fresh orange juice and powdered sugar tops this lovely fall Bundt.
Huge shout out to bakers Mary of Popsicles and Sandy Feet, Clivia of Bubie's Little Baker, and Wendy of Pink Stripes for making Bundts! Mary is my Mad Men buddy, Clivia makes this an International Project because she's Canadian, and Wendy is a twitter pal (and BlogHerFood buddy!) You three ladies rock!
Tomorrow is the half-way point of this 30 day adventure! Remember, November 15th is National Bundt Day! Come back tomorrow for another Bundt! Have a great weekend!

5 spice? Intriguing.
It looks delicious.
I love your sense of humor!
Oh no! I should have known you would do something with cranberries soon. I baked with them yesterday. This one is very, very tempting. It sounds fabulous. I still have some of those cranberries in the fridge.
I'm a recent convert and now devotee of Five Spice Powder. I can't wait to try this recipe.
Thanks for the shout-out.
Bundt on, Food Librarian!
This bundt looks like it would SMELL delicous and taste just as good. It'd be a good one to serve with Christmas dinner.
I've just been on the hunt for good cranberry recipes--leave it to a librarian to pop up with a good one (seriously, we'd all be up a creek without good librarians!). Once Bundt Month is done, what are you going to do for an encore?? I can't wait to know. Meanwhile, I'm loving the bundt bonanza! It's wonderful, and hilarious too!
I love the crunchiness that this bundt cake has. Delicious as always :)
Funny, I've never baked with my Chinese 5 Spice but I use it to make a coating for seared Ahi all the time.
Crazy but delicious. Great seasonal recipe. Got to get out my bundt pan.
This bundt makes me happy - I love cranberries in baked goods, so I'll have to get over my anise aversion and try it out!
I've never tried 5 spice powder. Every bundt is prettier than the day before.
Oooh love the Spiced Cranberry Bundt! Anything with cranberries! Gonna bookmark this one! And I have to say I took my dad's original Bundt pan on one trip home and it still had the original booklet of Bundt cake recipes with it from when the first Bundt pans came out! Now you're inspiring me to go all Bundt! Will check out ALL of your recipes!
He preparado ésta receta y es EXQUISITO. Con las especias chinas, le da un toque maravilloso. Gracias.
