For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie selection, Kait of Kait’s Plate selected My Best Chocolate Chip Cookies, page 68 of Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours.
These cookies have bittersweet chopped chocolate and walnut. Lots of people got flat cookies, but mine didn't spread too much. I did refrig my dough before baking them.
I sent them as part of a Valentine's care package to a few friends and they lasted for a few days through the travel.
Be sure to check out the other Tuesdays with Dorie bakers!
Also, Los Angeles folks - don't forget to buy your ticket to next Sunday's Stir It 28 Fundraiser! Yummy food, awesome folks and a good cause!

These look wonderful - I love the textural look to them! So different - and what a nice gift for someone to receive by mail. Glad they didn't spread too much for you - I actually enjoyed the flat "change" of pace! Back to the Oly's!
I love how your cookies turned out!
We really loved these!
I didn't refrigerate mine, they did go flat, but the taste was amazing. Yours look great!
They look delicious! I'm afraid if I put a tray of cookie dough balls in the fridge they'd have been eaten as is.
Your cookies look yummy... makes me want to bake up at batch right now!
yum...your cookies are tempting me to go off my detox plan!
Mmmm... you've managed to make them elegant, classy... simply posh. Very well done, Mary!
deliziosi questi biscotti!! complimenti!
These look just like the ones Dorie sold last week at CookieBar. And they look super delish :)
Your cookies look wonderful!
I too refrigerated mine overnight, and they still came out flat. No matter though, everyone devoured them!
Your cookies look delish! I refrigerated my dough too, I think it made a big difference!!
these look yummy although I prefer thicker cookies :)
Lucky friends! Great looking cookies.
Your cookies look great! Too bad I will be out of town or I would totally go. Have fun!
Yours have that characteristic look of using chopped chocolate instead of chips. Much more appealing!
They look good! A colleague of mine has been eating these for 11 days now, and he says they are still good, so they're definitely keepers.
Your cookies look wonderful Mary - love the way the chopped chocolate is visible throughout. Mine were thin and crispy, definitely not a favorite, but still fun to make!
bittersweet chocs and walnuts---true decadence
Mary!!! Finally, I am back to blog commenting. It was busy since November! Boo.
Your cookies look awesome! The glass of milk is the perfect touch.
Wow, your cookies look fantastic! I'm glad you didn't have problems with them spreading out too much - they definitely look just right. Thanks for baking with me!
That is kind of how my cookies looked. My hubby didn't care for them at all, but I thought the flavor was good. Yours look fabulous!
I think chilling the dough was a good move, wish I had. Your cookies are making me hungry.
those look great--love the chocolatey speckles!
I'd love to have these cookies accompany me on a trip! They wouldn't last a few days though! A few hours, maybe, but not a few days! Haha!
Im glad you enjoyed these cookies too. I thought they were good and apparently so did my family because they were gone in a day! YOur cookies look great!
I hope your baking with me next week, I can't believe it's my turn to host..where did a year and a half go!?
I normally like chewy chocolate chip cookies, but I ended up loving these!
I love the chocolate marbled throughout your cookies. Glad they made it through the mail! :)
Hi, Mary! Over a year later, I finally made these and love 'em! I dusted some of them with some special Ishigaki (Okinawa) sea salt, just to see. :) Thanks for the tip!!!
