For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie selection, Lynne of Honey Muffin chose Double Apple Bundt Cake on pages 184 and 185 of Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours.
Ladies and Gentlemen, it's a BUNDT cake recipe. Of course, I'm there. And since we dropped about 50 degrees from last week, it's Fall and a perfect time for an apple Bundt!
And do you know what is coming up? Oh yes, next month we celebrate National Bundt Day (November 15). And who might just be completely insane enough to bring you lots of Bundts before National Bundt Day again? I'll keep you in suspense until October 15th... ;)
(And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, check this out.)
This Bundt is easy to make and pop into the oven. And your house while it is baking? Oh, those air freshener companies should bottle this up! The "double apple" is a combo of apple butter (I used Ha's Farms) and grated apple (I used Gala apples).
I passed on the nuts and raisins to make it more friendly to my co-workers. But the nuts and fruit would be a nice addition I might try later!
Finally, I am trying to help someone find the recipe for an interesting 1945 wedding cake. Can you please take a look and see if you recognize the technique? Here's the post. Phoebe wants to make this cake for her grandparent's 65th (yes, not a typo, 65th!!) wedding anniversary.
Be sure to check out the other Tuesdays with Dorie bakers!

I agree...they should make it into a cologne too.
Your cake looks gorgeous.
I love new bunt ideas, thanks. Got a bunt pan for mother's day this year and it is the perfect cake to bring to share at work. Thanks for sharing.
Oh this looks delightful. With apples so plentiful right now, I'm on the hunt to find fun ways to use them.

I hope we're getting another month of big bundts! Because I like big bundts and I cannot lie!
I can't wait to see what you have planned on Oct. 15! The month of bundts you did last year was awesome.
I loved this cake too.
Yours looks great!
Brace yourself - I just saw the weather report, and it's suppose to jump to the 80's at the end of this week...kooky weather. Enjoy the cool fall weather...at least for the next couple of days!
I would have been totally disappointed if you didn't bake this. ;) Can't wait to see what you have in store for the 15th.

I am so impressed with perfect bundt cakes. Yours is that, of course. I think I need to give up my antique pan and get a new one to get such a clean outcome... great cake recipe too.. so many good things!

I can't believe it was over 100 last week and is now raining and in the 60s! LA is apparently a bit schizophrenic.
