Starbuck's Pumpkin Scones
You know you have some leftover pumpkin puree from all your holiday baking... if you have a few minutes, bake up these scones. Scones are so easy to make!
These scones have TWO layers of glaze. The first layer is a simple plain glaze and the second glaze is spiced with nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. (If I remember my baking teacher correctly, many commercial scones are glazed to keep them from drying out..thus, a longer shelf life.)
I made my small scones for the library staff. The original recipe yields six large scones...but I think I got around 18 or so.

Find the recipe on RecipeGirl's great blog here! She is writing a cookbook now too! :) Go Lori!

I got so excited about these that I pinned them and then close out the window. I had to come back and thank you for posting this recipe. I'm such a scone lover and pumpkin pie is my favorite. So, these are perfect. I can't wait for breakfast now!
Oh I made these recently (http://gratefulprayerthankfulheart.blogspot.com/2011/10/pumpkin-scones.html) and we loved them!
: )
nice recipe! this is something my parents would like. i wish i was there helping the library staff test out your pumpkin concoction! i thoroughly enjoyed the pumpkin muffins you made a few years back, too :)
Wow! I am happy to discover so many scone recipes on here, and these look wonderful! Thanks for sharing this with us...I'm wondering if the library staff adequately appreciates having you to bake such delights for them!
I've tried these scones before at starbucks and now that i have the recipe i'm able to finally bake these. Thanks for making this recipe available.
I love Starbucks scones---I recreated the Maple Oat Nut scones for myself, but I never got around to trying the pumpkin. These look great, can't wait to try.
I also love Starbucks scones...These look delicious. Will have to give them a try.
